In the January 2021 edition of the magazine This Is Rock, Héctor Núñez had a revealing conversation with Wolf Coleman, guitarist and founding member of Red n’Rebel, about the band's evolution and their unique musical approach.
The echo of the great classics continues to create concentric waves on the apparent calm of the sea they created in the '70s. From Cornellá, one of those waves blends with contemporary sounds to catalyze a perfect mix of hard rock, rhythm and blues, and southern.
Núñez shares his view on how, since its beginnings, the band has successfully fused classic hard rock with influences from blues, soul, and southern rock, creating an authentic sound that continues to evolve. Wolf reveals how the creative process has been key to maintaining the band's consistency, mentioning songs like... So Alone as an example of that connection from the very beginning.
Above all, we are a band of old-school rock and roll, hard rock born from the dust between blues and southern.
En cuanto al sonido, Wolf destaca que la banda ha trabajado de manera autocrítica y perfeccionista para conseguir un estilo limpio y poderoso, inspirado en sus influencias, pero con un sello propio. La producción de One Last Chance y su grabación en el estudio de Antonio López fueron una auténtica epopeya, con colaboraciones de lujo como Laura Powell, Ferran Bruach y Freddy García.
No tenemos ideas preconcebidas, los temas te piden sus espacios, solo hay que dejarlos fluir.
Otro aspecto que destaca Wolf son los coros, que se han convertido en un elemento distintivo en su propuesta musical. Lejos de ceñirse al concepto tradicional de hard rock, Red n’Rebel ha incorporado coros con toques de soul, blues y R&B, logrando incluso comparaciones con los coros de los Beatles en el tema God Bless.
